For sizing, you may find the following a helpful guide for a quick assessment
Measure Your Dog with a Cloth Measuring Tape:

1.  Measure your dog from base of the neck to base of the tail. This is the length. Determine where you want the sweater to end, mid back or longer? (shorter Length or longer to tail)

2. Measure your dog's chest at its widest point, which is usually behind the front legs.  This is the girth.

3 .For dog's with larger than normal necks, measure your dog's neck circumference as you would a collar. This is the neck.

4. If your dog is stouter, has a thick coat, broader chest, wider underside or is at the maximum for the size chart you may want to go up to the next larger size for a looser fit. Please note the next size up will fit up to the largest size range listed. For long back dogs such as a Dachshund it is recommended you fit the girth first.
